The music video for his breakthrough single, "Drill Time", quickly brought him attention online after it was released in August 2015. Slim Jesus was born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio. His name was given by his friends who started calling him "Swag Jesus", over time it transformed into "Slim Jesus", since he was skinny. He first released "Drill Time" to his SoundCloud account on July 20, 2015 and then the music video for it to his YouTube channel on August 18, 2015.
